Calipaso Winery & Villa
About CaliPaso
CaliPaso is this great villa in northern San Luis Obispo county. Located just off Hwy 46, it’s easy to get to from the 101 and has on-site accommodations for the newlyweds as well as several guest rooms to rent.
One of the main features of the venue is a beautiful double staircase leading up to the groom’s room. This area features a fountain, a large grassy area and those amazing stone staircases that amaze everyone who sees them.
CaliPaso Wedding Photography
CaliPaso offers several ideal locations for wedding photos. One is, of course, that amazing staircase that you see above. This spot is great for the entire wedding party since even large groups can stand on the stairs or even be in front of it all, using the stairs as a beautiful backdrop.
Another one of my favorite spots is just to the side of the staircases. Beautiful vines have grown up and over an arbor walkway and it’s just perfect for couples portraits. One of my favorite pictures to take here is to simply have the bride and groom holding hands and walking toward me.
There are lots of trees on the property as well, which helps when the Paso Robles sun gets a bit intense. The olive trees near the Winemaker’s Suite offer a wonderful backdrop while providing shade for those hot afternoons.
Just to the side of the reception area, where the villa’s guest rooms are located, there are these amazing arches that are great for couple’s portraits. This location only works well when the tables aren’t set up yet, but I love it when I can get a few photos there.

Winemaker’s Suite
The Terra Mia Bridal Suite is the perfect place for the bride and all her bridesmaids to get ready for the wedding. It is conveniently located near the ceremony site while remaining hidden from view. The bridal suite features a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and open living area with plenty of natural light.
Groom’s Room
The Barrel Room is a great open space that can be used for whatever you are dreaming of. It’s a great space for the guys to get ready or to use as a lounge area for guests. Some couples use the Barrel Room for their cake or dessert tables. The possibilities are almost endless for this space.
Outdoor Reception Area
Wedding ceremonis at Terra Mia typically utilize the amphitheater seating area. Up to 175 guests can view your wedding ceremony in the amphitheater with views overlooking the landscaped pond and terraced hillside.

From HWY 101:
Exit at HWY 46 East and turn East.
Follow HWY 46 for 0.7 miles.
Turn right on Buena Vista Drive.
CaliPaso will be on your right with signs for the unpaved parking area.
